Stories

I walk into the smell of paint, the sound of power tools and chatter of workers. For the past few months, we have been preparing the new center, and now the doors are opening, just like our hearts, to new beginnings. Day by day, the place took shape, with rooms being arranged, supplies organized, and corners filled with warmth and welcome. It was more than just setting up a new place. It was preparing a space for children, youth, and families to feel at home. A place where they could learn new skills, laugh, and find hope.

Alongside this, we felt welcome in the neighborhood and in the homes of the people we visited. We started in groups, walking around the area, meeting new people. Each place had a story.  We were curious to learn about the people, their lives, and their struggles. We heard heartbreaking stories from the very first day. With every visit, we encouraged them to get out and join our programs, especially women, who are often unemployed and stay at home moms who only leave for groceries or to get their children.

A season of new beginnings is unfolding. What was once a vision is turning into reality. Each day faces began to reappear at our door, greetings grew warmer, and conversation stretched longer. We are exploring their interests and how we can grow together. With every new step, we are reminded that this is only the beginning.
